Some imperfections threaten to make the film uneven but Antonio Banderas still puts on a great performance as a new Zorro to make it a winner in its own right. It's action-packed, dramatic and funny.
One way that we can see it is as an action-packed swashbuckling period piece. Fun and surprisingly nimble as the consensus states.
