Review of The Mask (1994) by Baurushan J — 06 Feb 2013
This movie is old-fashioned, badass, funny, and that's really it. The story is about a timid banker named Stanley who finds an ancient mask that transforms him into a wild prankster with superhuman powers known as The Mask.
The rubber-faced superhero possesses the courage to do wild fun things that Stanley fears to do including romancing Tina played by the newcomer Cameron Diaz and annoying her gangster boyfriend who wants the mask for evil.
The film introduced us to Cameron Diaz, boosted Jim Carrey's career, posted some wacky laughs, delivered Warner Bros. animation style special effects and the movie itself was simply hilarious. The Mask gets a weak 10/10.
