Review of The Mask (1994) by Matt R — 28 Nov 2015
Chuck Russell's highly amusing slapstick comedy concerning a wimpy bank clerk who discovers a mysterious magical "Mask" that upon putting it on, transforms him into a sizzling Superdude human cartoon who acts out his alter ego's fantasies.
The amazing rubber faced Jim Carrey delivers a masterful comic performance, which is aided by stunning digital computer visual effects which are inspired by manic 1940s cartoons of Tex Avery. Good direction by Russell, with superb performances from the smoking hot sexy Cameron Diaz, Peter Riegert, Peter Greene, and Amy Yeabeck.
A wonderfully surrealistic comedic gem. Highly Recommended.
