This is a movie that I will purchase for my collection, it's that good. It's a science fiction movie (Mars, duh) with desperation (alone with limited supplies), but also shows the humanity of the world as everyone pitches in to bring him home (a la Apollo 13.
) The man on Mars is Mark Watney, and since he enters a daily journal, he lets us know what he's thinking so we don't have a narrator or voice over (clever use of technology.) To keep the mood going up and down, Mark has humorous comments (like Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.
) All in all, a well put together, enjoyable movie.
