Review of The Marine (2006) by Melanie-Ann D — 28 Dec 2010
"The Marine" is one of the worst movies I have ever had the misfortune to watch! John Cena, don't give up your day job! He cannot act for toffee! They don't even allow us a glimpse of his famous body.
..only being shirtless in one scene. Robert Patrick, normally a good actor...what were you thinking??? Kelly Carlson, from TV's Nip/Tuck, puts in a bland performance and oh, my goodness...Anthony Ray Parker??? Who the heck said he could act???? He's absolutely terrible!!! The worst actor I have ever seen.
He completely ruins the movie...if it's ruinable, that is. The script is cheesy, with the most terrible lines and the attempt at humour is embarrassingly bad. The explosions are magnificent though.
There are fifteen, I counted! I also cannot imagine why they thought people would be fooled by Australia doubling as South Carolina. There are Blue Gum trees and crocodiles in the same scene, for goodness sake! Pathetic.
Don't waste your money.
