Review of The Manchurian Candidate (2004) by Andy G — 25 Feb 2011
-Suspenseful build-up is executed very well.
-Liev Schreiber continues to impress me.
-Denzel as Denzel, once again. This time in uniform.
-Maryl Streep is tremendous at playing total bitches.
-Even though brief, Jeffery Wright does a fantastic job as the paranoid, psychotic soldier.
-Great story, a tad bit drawn out altogether well done.
-Mind-bending is done to the characters, but direction doesn't follow suit well enough. Could have been portrayed a little better.
-Fantastic score.
-The after-shower scene is messed up. It finally reveals the senator for the psycho she really is.
