Review of The Manchurian Candidate (1962) by Masorad ( — 13 Nov 2009
Manchurian Kandidate ULTRA! Wheedles armchair-edgy performances from Lansbury, Sinatra and Harvey in this rabblerousing Frankenheimer cold-war thriller, beautifully designed by Dick Sylbert (the brainwash/hydrangea , the convention), and heavily ballsed by Condon's pulp-profit motive.
Not so much a film as a meme.
