Edgy stuff, especially when you consider the year it was released (1962: Cuban Missle Crisis). Angela Landsbury brilliantly plays Laurence Harvey's diabolical mother. Interesting fact, there was only one year age difference between the two actors, which attests to the high level of performance.
The re-make doesn't do the original justice.
