Review of The Manchurian Candidate (1962) by Blake P — 13 Aug 2011
Let's begin with the good. This is how you make a conspiracy movie. It's well-crafted, interesting, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Oscar voters should've been given their last request for not award Angela Lansbury an Oscar for this.
She is that brilliant. Laurnece Harvey does ok. His accent slips alot. I have no clue why Janet Leigh is in this. None. Ebert theorized she was an agent of some sort, and that does make sense. At the end of the day, this is a great movie.
