Review of The Man Without a Face (1993) by Dave B — 07 Aug 2007
Mel Gibson is very effective as both director and lead character in this story of the friendship between a disfigured outcast and a lonely youth. Some of the language is unnecessarily crude and the theme is intense, but it is a wonderful depiction of the power of friendship and forgiveness.
The wonderful yet bittersweet ending is one that I always find deeply moving, no matter how many times I see this movie. I rated it 5 stars and hopefully all 5 stars will show up this time!
