Review of The Man with the Iron Fists (2012) by Gavin S — 24 Jun 2013
This is a great bad movie. Seeing as how it was made as an homage to the Kung Fu films of the 70s/80s, I think that's a compliment. Some of it is laughably loud, and some of it is downright decent.
Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu look like they're having a blast with this stuff, and that's nice to see. The action is sparse in parts, but at the end it was the climax in some showdowns. Some of it was downright silly, but hey, that's how it goes in many kung fu flicks.
RZA is a first time film director, but was helped out by Eli Roth with the writing, and that might have been a good idea. Either way, watch it for a laugh or if you're a 14yr old boy.
