Review of The Man with the Iron Fists (2012) by Zeldagiygaslord 6 — 27 Feb 2013
The trailer made this look like the entire film was going to be constant, awesomely over-the-top violence. And for the most part, it was. But honestly, the more the movie tries to actually stop and tell a story, the worse off it is. The first few actions scenes are edited very slowly, so they aren't very exciting. Honestly, the first hour of the film was kind of boring. But then...
HO. LY. CRAP.
The last 30 minutes of this movie are what the entire movie should have been. The action speeds up, gets even more over the top, and the visuals explode in a whirlwind of swords, daggers, and multiple colors of blood. Creative things are done with the camera, the kills are imaginative, and the epicness just shoots through the roof. The weapons are creative and fun to look at, and the ways that the villains die (oh, don't act like I'm spoiling anything) are just flat-out awesome.
So yeah, the first hour is dull, but it's totally worth it just to see the last 30 minutes of explosive, uncontrolled badassery. Turn your brain off and check it out.
