Review of The Man with the Iron Fists (2012) by Tim P — 15 Nov 2013
Throughout the film you can see RZA trying to use the things he admires about martial arts movies and incorporate them into his own hip hop-influenced product. It's hit and miss, and ironically the fighting scenes get progressively worse (the best sequence is earlier in the film).
The characters are interesting and would do well in a prolonged series, but are tightly squeezed in the small space of a movie script. It's still entertaining, and if you can let go of a plot that's too simple, you can enjoy it.
