Review of The Man with the Iron Fists (2012) by Austin S — 17 Nov 2013
49% of the Critics like it, and 42% of the Audience likes it. I am going to go out on a limb and say that whoever "Liked" this movie, did so because (like me) of the action, or because of the fact that it was a really good BAD movie (like me) .
The movie, in its premise is very simple....in fact its so simple that your brain begins to complicate it out of sheer boredom. RZA may be the next big thing in Rap, or he already is....however, he should stick to what he knows, which is music because movies is really not his cup of tea.
The narration and storyline came right out of a classic Shaw Brothers kung-fu flick which was diluted with cheesy sounding clan names and mindless brawling. The only thing that could have redeemed the movie in my eyes would have been the ABSENCE of RZA.
..because the guy cannot act to save his life....every other member of the cast has acted, RZA has at the most.....blinked a couple of times. At the end I felt like I was trapped by a black widow. Lured into the movie with QT's name and then having been subjected to this.
...its just wrong man. My 3 star rating goes half and half to the action and the remarkable talent of RZA in making such a shockingly bad movie.
