Review of The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by Derek J — 28 Mar 2008
Ugh. Just, no. This isn't an action movie, it's a comedy in the same vein of Ben Stiller's Starsky and Hutch. I mean, hell, even the whistle sound at the sight of a really, spectacular car jump just, killed the scene. Britt Ekland just didn't work as Moore's leading lady. She was vapid, dumb, clumsy and annoying. Hey, I just summed up the movie. Now, let's see if I can think of good things to say. Christopher Lee as the title character. Now, here's an odd situation, a fantastic villain in a crappy movie. He's cold, meticulous and relentless. Another item in this film that made it not such a headache all the way though was Maud Adams as Lee's woman. Hmm, she might be the only source of interesting emotion and character in this film. So, anyway, yeah, one of my two least favourite Bond films.
Peace!
