Review of The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by Henk E — 28 Apr 2009
The ninth entry in the James Bond franchise is not very exciting at all. And Roger Moore really does not have the class and sophistication Bond deserves in this movie. This time James finds himself in Bangkok and is up against Dracula, a french midget with a pitch-fork, a car with wings, a giant ray-gun, some sumo wrestlers and an entire karate school. The final face-off happens in the bad guy's fun-house.... Yes, it is as over-the-TOP as it sounds. Where is the suave James Bond I grew up with?
The story also is very weak.... no sense of urgency at all.
Not a good entry in the series.
