Review of The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by David H — 11 May 2010
James Bond films are great. The story in every single Bond film is structured in the same way and Bond pretty much does the same things in all 21+ of his films. Yet despite their repetitiveness and predictable storyline, Bond films remain, in my opinion, very entertaining and interesting. They are great films to sit back, have a few beers and relax to. Or possibly a vodka martini shaken not stirred. Each one manages to introduce unique villains that all have their own private army and vision of destruction. Bond manages to use some new gadgets, go to different countries and meet new women in every film. It is a great film series, up until Pierce Brosnan left. One Brosnan left and Daniel Craig started taking over they've become all action and no story. Whereas during the Connery, Moore, Dalton and early Brosnan eras of Bond, the stories were excellent with well balanced action.
The Man with the Golden Gun is one of the best Bond films. The villain, Scaramanga, represents the dark side of james bond. Scaramanga is played perfectly by christopher lee. Nick Nack is also a comical addition to the film. Overall this is a great bond film featuring a clash between the two best assassins in the world, Bond and Scaramanga.
