Review of The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by Jason V — 17 Nov 2008
Another weak chapter in the Bond saga featuring Christopher Lee chewing up scenery as the villain of the title. This time the â70âs film genre shoehorned in for relevance is kung-fu but it doesnât feel as cringe-inducingly dated as the blaxploitation of Live And Let Die.
But the inexplicable return of Louisiana sheriff J.W. Pepper (in Japan!) still frustrates and Britt Ekland as inexperienced agent Mary Goodnight (âGoodnight, Goodnightâ) supplied the most irritating Bond Girl until 1985.
