Review of The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by Eric G — 23 Dec 2008
Widely regarded as the worst Bond movie by people who haven't seen A View to a Kill, it certainly has it's bad moments (an amazing first-of-its-kind stunt is ruined by use of a slide whistle; one of the best AMC car chases ends when Scaramanga's car sprouts wings and flies away; the stereotypical redneck sheriff from Live and Let Die turns up in Thailand of all places; etc.).
Still, for the first time ever, it appears Bond has truly met his match in Christopher Lee's assassin, Scaramanga.
