Review of The Man Who Would Be King (1975) by Aidan H — 11 Dec 2011
John Huston's glorious crowd-pleaser is the adventure movie to end them all with both Caine and Connery in fine form as the British mercenaries on a death-defying quest to become kings of Kafiristan - a land where no white man has set foot since Alexander.
Packed with jaw-dropping locations, eminently quotable dialogue and bristling with epic crowd scenes, this old skool romp had us off our chairs applauding as the credits rolled. Magnificent.
