Review of The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) by Stefan P — 25 Apr 2009
As usual with the Coen brothers you can expect a unique and brilliant script with a few unexpected twists. Many of the actors will be recognized from the masterly directors other movies, and it's truly an impressive cast they've gathered here.
Billy Bob Thornton and Frances McDormand, among others, performs flawlessly. Richard Jenkins and his highly impressive performance as a drunk needs to be mentioned too. Great classical music that catches the atmosphere perfectly.
We can thank Roger Deakins for the beautiful cinematography. I think it was a wise choice to use black and white too. The Coen brothers amazes me yet again with another excellent film.
