Review of The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) by Jay L — 27 May 2008
I just love the Coen Brothers. Billy Bob Thorton makes a truly incredible character from what seemed like dry and flat motives. An excellent take on film noir. This movie, along with Raging Bull, make me wish that black and white movies were still common as they are both absolutely stunning in different ways.
I haven't seen such breathtaking chiaroscuro lighting since Touch of Evil. Bravo Coen Bros.
