A stylish yet subtle Noir, this is average Coen- but still a cut above most other fare. There are many enjoyable performances- particularity from Billy Bob Thornton and Tony Shalhoub- and the Coen's trademark sensibility is present and correct.
Not the most thrilling mystery ever conceived, but an interesting film.
