This black and white throwback to the Noir carries on the Coen's love of trancing you with a simple, earthly paced story. Every seemingly on-cue plot point is hit in an unsuspecting and alarming manner making for a very unpredictable 2 hours.
Roger Deakins cinematography seems to be hand crafted for the Coen brothers style of story, and this film with its simple and elegant imagery is no exception.
