Review of The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) by Ben J — 17 Sep 2012
A simple tale told well and with some misdirection and some great acting. One of the more basic and less complex Coen Brothers films but is still a great film. Turns from average to great by Bill Bob Thornton's performance.
Portraying emotion is easy, portraying lack of emotion is much harder. Ed Crane is a soulless character and Thorntons portrayal is brilliant. Some great other cameos especially Shalhoub, a simple yet a really good film.
