Review of The Man Who Sued God (2001) by Susan E — 02 Feb 2009
This has become one of my most favorite movies. A slacker guy's (Connolly's character) boat is destroyed by lightening. The insurance company won't pay for a replacement because it was an act of God.
The guy, now frustrated and mad, sues all the churches because they are representatives of God. Win or lose, the churches are screwed. The questions then are how do you get a happy ending? Does the guy continue to be a slacker or rise to the occassion and turn back into a nonslackerish fellow? And where does Judy Davis' character come in? I like the story.
I like the actors. I like the way they played off each other.
