Review of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) by Riccardo P — 16 Nov 2007
This movie is generally regarded as John Ford's last great movie. There's a great James Stewart, a wild and superviolent Lee Marvin and there's Duke--who's the heart and the soul of this movie, the champion of freedom and independence, the man who seeks justice outside the law and is crushed by the advent of civilization (in the form of James Stewart).
it's brillaint, brilliant, brilliant. Few western movies have ever been this good.
