This movie had an interesting story and gave a great feeling of the old West before statehood, but I felt the framing device was clumsy and James Stewart was miscast. He was way too old for the part. Great to see John Wayne and Vera Miles, plus a strong supporting cast.
3 out of 5. Nowhere near as good as Shane. Shane FOREVER.
