It fits nicely with the mystique of david bowies public persona, and in doing that it is accomplished. however, this film is absolutely a mess. I can just see roeg and his editor in the editing room going,.

-so what do you think should come next?

-i dont know man.....lets just put this completely unrelated shot in here and maybe we can pawn it off as artsy.

-i dont know nick....you think anyone will actually buy it?

-sure....i mean....sure they will.

-i dont know man....maybe we should try to tell a story instead of just forcing a jigsaw piece in a slot where it obviously doesnt go.

-hey....whos paying you! thats right, me!

-ok im just making sure that if the movie turns out to be crap that im still getting paid.

Yeah, it had to have been something like that. in fact, that seems to be the case in most, if not all, of roegs films. he puts these sequences in that try to draw parallels that simply arent there or at least are only marginally connected. but to be fair, this film does have some artistry at work. it just gets lost in the fray. so unless you are a big bowie fan (which I am) this movie isnt even worth it.
