Review of The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) by Kilian Z — 08 Sep 2008
Well I hesitate between an intellectual h***j** or an experimental movie. For me this the same genre as Kubrick's 2001, Space Odyssey, which is largely better but after the film you are: OK I got great pictures, some great moment .
.. but it finish by a director's mega "trip" (do they take drugs or what ? few call that talent, ok why not ...^^). There are some good points in terms of ideas, story and D. Bowie is doing a good job, but this erotico-scifi movie with an easy end to escape does not work on me (a bit old also).
Well that's why it is cult, not everyone can like it. Anyway I would greenlight for a remake.
