Review of The Man Who Cried (2000) by Halle . — 20 Feb 2009
A beautiful film. The music, the plot, and of course Johnny Depp. Yes, it is true that he has very few lines, but the way he portrays his character with no need to speak tested his acting skills and once again, hes amazing.
I love the many themes of this film, so thought provoking. Sally Potter's screenplay, research & contributions to this film=brilliant. So many parts of it make me really want to live a Gypsy lifestyle, so carefree & wonderful! Especially with the music by Taraf De Haidouks and Kronos Quartet! Love the tension & mysteriousness between Suzie & Cesar, their love scenes give me the shivers, especially with the GORGEOUS OPERA MUSIC! The music truly made the film, the soundtrack is one of the best I've found yet.
I absolutely adore this film and have read and watched it over and over. Its unlike any other and will always be a favorite of mine.
