Review of The Man Who Cried (2000) by Michael B — 06 May 2009
The very beginning, where the girl is still a child, and she is with her father running around in that field. THAT part was amazing. I can still hear him saying 'Fegele' ...
But the rest of the movie was crap. Johnny Depp was in his Look-mom-I'm-a-gypsy mode (and it's best to avoid him when he is like that), and Christina, well, OK, she had her moments. But Tarturro and what's her name ... Hmm. Thanks but no thanks.
In conclusion, therefore, if the movie had stopped right in the beginning, after the scene with the little girl, it would have gotten a full 5 stars. To bad it didn't though.
