Review of The Man in the Moon (1991) by Susie G — 15 Apr 2008
I had seen pieces of this movie but now i've finally seen it from beginning to end. It's a nice story about first love and the bond of sisterhood, and it definitely makes me wish I lived on a farm, with a porch with screen doors and a pond nearby, but I have issues with the idea of love/sex in the movie.
Court and Dani seem to have a real connection but he doesn't want to get physical with her cause he feels she's too young. He meets her pretty older sister Maureen, proclaims "A friend's not what I need right now," gets physical with her and all of a sudden they're "in love.
" He practically forgets that Dani exists. To me this says that love cannot exist without sex. Not buyin it.
