This is one of Reese Witherspoon's first films. Even way back then, she was a phenomenal actress and it shows in this movie. I watched this movie for the first time when I was a teenager and it just SPOKE to me.
This movie totally GETS teenage girls when they have their first crush- how wonderful and painful it can be. This movie is more than that though. It is just plain good drama, and the other supporting acting are wonderful as well (Sam Waterston as the dad).
To put it simply, I just love love LOVE this movie!
