My view on this movie is that it should have been much better, should have stuck closer to the book, AND should have been less cheesy. I think all the actors, DiCaprio, Irons, Malkovich, Depardieu, and Byrne are all fantastic, but I think each of them was miscast and that the story did them no favours.
I think I would have enjoyed it more if I DIDNT know all the actors in this, as you expect so much more from that scenario. It's a flop.
