Review of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) by Ian G — 22 Nov 2015
A retro Mission Impossible based out of the tv series from the 60's, the Man from Uncle is a Guy Ritchie joint that is very 60's stylish as it puts together Mother Russia and the States as they cooperate to regain control over the nuclear secrets designed by Alicia Vikanders father during his time stateside cooperating with the Government for his freedom.
The costuming and look for the film is pretty bang on, and most of the cast is simply servicable in their respective roles, the true rockstar is Vikander who between this film, Ex Machina and the Danish Girl is proving to be the break out star of 2015 in terms of the acting game.
Slick if anything and simply meant to be seen as disposable entertainment and to fill out the Vikander filmography.
