A movie set in 1963 made by people who hadn't even been born by then. Except for Henry Cavill's (not terribly successful) attempt at an early 60's playboy style as Solo, everyone else is acting like it's 2015.

Alicia Vickander's character, in particular, behaves entirely unlike any 1960's woman would have, even in a spy fantasy. Didn't the filmmakers bother to watch some 1960's films, or even the original Man from U.

N.C.L.E. show? The contrived backstories for Napoleon Solo and llya Kuryakin are unnecessary and do not fit the characters of the original TV series, and Cavill in particular does not seem intelligent enough to have been a fabulously clever and sophisticated international art thief.

Armie Hammer is a much better actor and would have been more effectively used in the Solo role. Hugh Grant's sleazy, world-weary Waverly works very well, but we see too little of him here.
