Review of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) by Pressedpants — 30 Oct 2015
I watched every episode and movie from the original series before I watched this movie.
My score, as well as opinion, is 100% accurate and valid regardless of what the "formal" critics say.
Problems with the movie:

My score, as well as opinion, is 100% accurate and valid regardless of what the "formal" critics say.
Problems with the movie:
Illya Kuryakin is misrepresented as being much larger, similar to the size of a typical villain. He was always smaller in stature as compared to Napoleon Solo. For this I deducted 1 point.
Alicia Vikander's accent was misplaced at times and wasn't 100% accurate all the time, which drops immersion with the audience. The solution for that would just be a simple retake, which didn't happen. For this I deducted .5 of a point because this is clearly a misplaced problem across staff (editor, director, etc.) as opposed to a direct problem with the actress.
The vehicle in the end scene was an improper choice as it was too modern looking. For this I deducted .5 of a point.
POSITIVES:
It was refreshing to watch a Prequel to a much loved series. Hopefully there will be PROPERLY done sequels in the future to rightfully earn a 10 rating. If a television show arises out of this I will not watch it...just the movies.
