Review of The Man from Snowy River (1982) by ♥Robyn — 29 Mar 2010
First and Foremost, I will be a little bias I am Australian and this is a Childhood favourite. But truly in watching this film again as an adult it truly is a fantastic film and as far as Aussie Movies go it is in a league of its own. Probably the only real decent movie about Australia.
All the cast are fantastic with Kirk Douglas being amazing and Tom Burlinson with Sigrid Thornton are great. So it is well acted and shows true Aussie spirit throughout the film.
The only problem I had with Man From Snowy River is some of the cheesy 80's shots that are throughout the film, but in reflection I didn't see this as a good enough reason to fault the film for it's time.
The best thing about The Man from Snowy River is it's display of Australian scenery, it is visually stunning to look at the Aussie outback, it truly is beautiful.
Great story with great acting, one of the best films I have seen. It clicked with me from the very beginning and still does today.
100% - Perfect.
