Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Shane K — 29 Dec 2008
A film that succeds on many fields. First of all it succeds in style in part because of Bogart's performance which has indeed become the benchmark for all movie detectives but mainly because of Huston's direction which leaves no room for errors.
The film is also superbly written and genuinly surprising. All in all a terrific movie with a great performance from Bogart.
