Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Corey N — 30 Sep 2010
After many years of knowing about this famous film and knowing the basic plot of the film I must admit I was impressed. This has to be one of the best film noir out there. The film stars Humphrey Bogart as private eye Sam Spade.
Spade gets involved in a chase for the Maltese Falcon. This prize involves murder, lying, cheating, deception and about everything you can think of. Bogart gives a great performance. The character Sam Spade was made for him.
The story is engaging and the characters in the film interesting. I enjoyed actor Peter Lorre as the John Cairo character. For a old film it still stands up as a quality movie even today. If your looking for a fun film noir then give this classic a watch.
Well worth the time.
