Review of The Majestic (2001) by Curtis H — 30 Dec 2011
A look over the shoulder to Hollywood McCarthyism: When a blacklisted screenwriter looses his memory, he is embraced by a small town as a long lost war hero. The story is inspirational in all aspects, and Jim Carrey's performance is strong, if a bit unnatural.
Forgive some of its more predictable or soppy turns of events, because it is stirringly patriotic. Its beautiful, its priceless, and its very nostalgic.
