Denzel's performance was spot on and outstanding, as powerful as Yul Brynner's. Ethan Hawke's Goodnight was an improvement on Robert Vaughn's Lee. I really missed the the inclusion of a Chico or Kikuchiyo type character but appreciated the addition of characters that brought forth bow usage and swordsmanship into the battles (nice homage to Seven Samurai).
It's an interesting and enjoyable new take on the 1960 version.
