Great performance by a talented cast, but it's really hard to grasp what Fuqua's intentions are in this piece. Intense and emotional opening and climax seem to contradict the light-hearted middle hour.
Certainly an entertaining watch, but it was difficult to decide whether I should smile and sob when the credits started rolling.
