Westerns tend to hit on cliches often - and heavy at times - and this does much the same. However, usually it's purposeful, calculated. I struggled to determine if much of the cliche drawn out in this one was as purposeful.

..every so often they just didn't quite 'click.' However, despite the boorish stereotypes and painfully drawn out sequences every other scene or so, it was endlessly entertaining. And let me say this, if nothing else: the western genre suits Denzel --- so well.
