Review of The Magnificent Seven (2016) by Matthias D — 25 Dec 2016
Guns, more guns, bad guys and more bad guys..... and then more bad guys and more guns.
The plot isn't anything special, but it works because we're here to see action, not some titanic lovesque scene.
To be honest, I enjoyed its half asked story, because it focused more on the bad ass gunslinger machismo theme instead. All of the magnificent 7 played a fair role, and they all kicked serious butt. The ending scene is probably over 20 minutes of non stop gun fighting. There must be at least 150 kills in the final scene. Let's not mention the humor thrown back and forth between every scene or two to make you smile a bit. After all, this is what this movie wanted to bring you - a good time.
Is this magnificent 7 the best action movie of the year? I can't say, but this is definitely a movie I'll recommend if anyone wants to see a good action flick.
Denzel Washington plays a good role and is backed by a strong cast.
I'm not here to watch and then rate a westerner on its plot, I'm here to rare it on the entertainment from its action. And I can tell you that the entire movie is more than satisfying. Other than a few rushed scenes, the movie presents itself very well.
The action scenes are as top notch as you can get with single fire rifles and pistols.
The ending scene is what makes the movie. It is one of the better final fight scenes I've seen in quite some time.
Solid action/westerner.
8/10 in my book.
