Review of The Magnificent Seven (2016) by Richard S — 27 May 2017
I'm not a huge fan of remakes but reuniting Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke with their Training Day director was a film that had to be seen. I thought this was a really decent remake. It was considerably more violent than the original but I felt it kept the spirit of the original and the feel of the old type westerns which isn't an easy task, many have failed, there are only a handful of decent modern westerns.
Peter Sarsgaard was particularly memorable as sinister big bad Bartholomew Bogue.
