Review of The Magnificent Seven (2016) by William James S — 16 Jun 2017
Generally, I'm not a big fan of westerns, but this one was pretty good. I really liked the cinematography and the music and the acting was decent. It's well directed with some strong action set pieces.
But, unfortunately the screenplay was filled with clichés, which I guess is what happens when you make a remake of another film which was also a remake. It becomes a visicious cycle of revolving ideas.
For what it's worth, I thought that Chris Pratt had some of the best dialogue, although he seems to be running the risk of becoming the comic relief in most of his movies.
