Review of The Magnificent Seven (2016) by Compi24 — 26 Sep 2016
Antoine Fuqua continues to demonstrate his utter dominance over the genre filmmaking craft with "The Magnificent Seven," an invigorating western with enough respect for the original to get even the most fervent remake-haters on board for the ride.
Denzel Washington and Co. throw smoke across the screen in some of the most thrilling gunfights I've witnessed this side of "Django Unchained," thanks in no small part to Fuqua's undeniably brilliant grasp of set piece direction.
Throw in the final score we'll ever hear from the late, great James Horner and a hilarious performance from Vincent D'Onofrio and you're left with a truly impactful cinematic thrill ride.
