Review of The Magnificent Seven (2016) by I K — 24 Jan 2017
Feels like one of the inferior sequels that followed the original. Made for the politically correct generation, with contrived casting and plot, and with little historical realism; racism was never present in the 1870's.
21st C multi-cultural harmony transplanted to an era where only in Hollywood's revisionist history it was prevalent. But you could overlook that if it had been a good film, yet it wasn't, it lacked any charm or tension.
None of the characters you felt for, and despite the pyrotechnics, the battle sequences were overcooked and dull.
